Mary Therese Carmichael is an accomplished artist who has been painting professionally for more than 30 years. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was first influenced by her father, Arthur Fattori, who had his own successful commercial art studio and was a well-known portrait painter for many years.
Like her father, Mary Therese is a gifted portrait painter whose subjects have ranged from very young children to adults and even family pet portraits. She is equally known for her stunning florals and her dramatic landscapes, which adorn the walls of many prominent homes and commercial institutions throughout Toronto.
Mary Therese's vast body of work in a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolours, and pen and ink, is a testament to her diverse talents.
As an art teacher, Mary Therese has shared her creative expertise and technical mastery with many children and adults. Over the decades, hundreds of appreciative and devoted students have passed through her studio. Some of these individuals have gone on to establish very successful artistic careers of their own much to the delight of their mentor, Mary Therese.
A mother of five grown sons, Mary Therese lives at her home in Toronto. When she is not painting or teaching art, Mary Therese still finds time to run a thriving business as an interior decorator, providing services to selected clients in the greater Toronto area.
